3D Mobile Mapping is our newest activity with the best performance 3D Mobile Scanning System available Worldwide! Two RIEGL VQ-250 mobile laser scanners + Inertial Navigation with Applanix POS LV 510 + Four 5 Mpixel camera system! Our 3D mobile scanning system has relative millimetre accuracy and up-to absolute one centimetre accuracy @600.000 points/sec.

Our Combined Terrestrial Imaging Systems were developed through the integration of laser scanners, digital reflex cameras, industrial cameras, state of the art inertial navigation systems plus several software packages for processing 3D radiometric and geometric information, GNSS+INS navigation.

The technology used by Artescan sees the fusion of positional information, gathered by 3D laser scanning, and the semantic information collected by photogrammetry to achieve a high metric accuracy and spatially continuous surveys of complex objects, areas and surfaces.

The large number of laser collected (x,y,z) points, the so-called 3D point clouds, integrating high-resolution RGB imagery, are the new standard for geometry + dimension + texture survey.

Our systems allow high resolution geometry acquisition with millimetre to centimetre accuracy (depending on the optical properties of the reflecting surface) as well as high resolution semantic information on the surfaces texture and colour up to ranges over 500 meters.

3D laser scanning

3D Laser scanning brings a high level of detail, accuracy and geometric/dimension information to any survey, especially in complex contexts, and does so simply, quickly and cost-effectively. The 3D coordinated point acquisition rate of our laser scanners vary from 125 to 300 thousand per second.

The static scan from each station takes between 2 and 10 minutes, depending on the resolution desired for the survey. The combination of results from multiple scanning positions allows the whole object to be covered, aiming at continuous survey data in a unique 3D point cloud.

The 3D Mobile Scanning System takes 30 minutes to be set-up on the vehicle and is ready to go on record in 5 minutes after start. The 2 crossing scanning planes can record 3D laser data at speeds from 10 to 100km/hour with scanning rates up to 600.000 points/sec + four 5Mpixel industrial cameras at 5 pictures/sec each.

photogrammetry

Pics regarding this subject.

Photogrammetry is the science to derive 3D object information from a set of photographs.

Each image can be seen as an instantaneous recording of thousands of spatial directions. By combining two or more images, and thus intersecting the bundles of spatial rays, the coordinates of object points, their quality, the positions of the camera, its orientations and the distortions introduced by the lenses can be calculated.

Monoscopic Photogrammetry uses convergent photographs that can be taken from a hand-held camera, making it easier, more flexible and more cost-effective for Close-Range Photogrammetry, than the more traditional stereoscopic methods, widely used for Aero-Photogrammetry.

software

Our own developed software ARTEVIS provide our costumers a very user friendly tool to visualize and perform measurements on the data from each job.

A set of specialized software packages integrates all recorded data, point clouds and spatially oriented high resolution photographic imagery, which are combined within the same arbitrary or geo-referenced coordinate system, local or global.

We can provide 3D modelling of complex three-dimensional reality, integrating information from multiple data sources including remote sensing satellite imagery, LIDAR, existing cartography, differential GPS data, bathymetry, GIS, data bases, Google Earth, etc.

We use CAD software with the best 3D modelling tools and precision, which combines links between the modelled objects and information systems, as organized data bases and produces animations or virtual reality.

One can therefore produce a three-dimensional model from which profiles, cross-sections, previews, plans, areas, volumes and other conventional engineering documents can be automatically generated, by us or the customer.
